SD CAM

– Universal small-field gamma camera system for thyroid diagnostics

The SDCam is a specially developed small-field gamma camera system designed for all applications in thyroid diagnostics. The system can be configured for either iodine- or technetium-based examinations and offers a high degree of flexibility for various diagnostic requirements thanks to a range of specialized collimators.

The compact, space-saving design, combined with a height-adjustable stand and a tiltable detector head, allows for precise and comfortable patient positioning. Thanks to the integrated casters, the system can be moved quickly and easily around the room. The stand can be securely locked in place and precisely adjusted using locking screws.

Image acquisition and analysis are performed via a powerful, Windows-based workstation. The entire signal path—from the photomultiplier to image processing—reflects the current state of the art in science and technology. A specially developed, particularly compact LQN circuit board is integrated into the camera head, ensuring reliable and high-quality signal processing. Combined with a high-end PC and powerful software, this creates a seamless, future-proof complete system.

Digital data is transmitted from the detector to the acquisition computer via an Ethernet connection. This makes it easy to accommodate even long distances between the camera and the computer—using standard cables and without the need for additional specialized hardware. This not only simplifies installation but also allows for easy replacement or upgrading of the computer hardware to the latest state-of-the-art technology.

Two collimators are available for different energy ranges:

  • SD1 for energies up to 160 keV
  • SD2 for energies up to 400 keV

This makes the SdCam system suitable for a wide range of nuclear medicine applications in the low- and medium-energy range and provides the technical prerequisites for precise, reliable, and efficient diagnostics.
