Explorer 250

– high-resolution gamma camera system for flexible applications in hospitals, clinics, and research

Dieses Bild zeigt die planare mobile Gammakamera Explorer 250 von Inter Medical Medizintechnik

The Explorer 250 is a fully mobile, high-resolution gamma camera system for flexible applications in hospitals, clinics, and research. Equipped with a 250 mm diameter detector and 37 photomultipliers (PMTs), the Explorer 250 offers excellent image quality and high spatial resolution—anytime, anywhere.

The system features an integrated acquisition and analysis computer, eliminating the need for an external workstation during regular operation. At the same time, external PCs and monitors can be connected, enabling integration into existing IT and network infrastructures.

Thanks to its sturdy, mobile stand, the Explorer 250 can be easily moved from room to room. An integrated UPS (uninterruptible power supply) ensures that ongoing examinations are protected for several hours even in the event of a power outage.

Digital data transmission and signal processing are handled via an Ethernet connection and a specially developed, compact LQN board in the detector head, combined with powerful software. This ensures precise, stable, and high-performance image acquisition—even during longer examinations or when addressing complex clinical challenges.

Compatible Collimators

The Explorer 250 can be equipped with a wide range of collimators to meet various diagnostic requirements:

  • SD1 collimator (up to 160 keV)
  • SD2 collimator (up to 400 keV)
  • GP1 collimator (up to 160 keV)
  • ME collimator (Medium Energy)
  • HE 131 collimator (High Energy for I-131)
  • Pinhole collimator (high-resolution detail imaging)
  • UF1 collimator (ultra-focus applications)

Typical Application Scenarios

The Explorer 250 is particularly suitable for:

  • mobile thyroid and parathyroid diagnostics
  • sentinel lymph node diagnostics on wards or in areas adjacent to operating rooms
  • temporary examination stations in clinical or research settings
  • Flexible use on wards with changing patient populations
  • Examinations in areas without a permanent gamma camera installation
  • Use in confined spaces or in multiple rooms in succession

With its combination of high-resolution detector technology, integrated workstation, true mobility, and emergency power supply, the Explorer 250 offers maximum flexibility and ease of use.
